WBS is a hierarchy all and it breaks down the
work. It can be delivered both orientation and it really defines the scope of
the project. Work breakdown structure keeps breaking different components down
to show all the work again that produces deliverable. In it’s essence is the
telescope the project.
Milestone, different points on the schedule. This is
a significant point in time or event on your schedule, sometimes you will see
them marked as a black diamond. Once you hit a milestone on time that’s a great
calls for celebration that something important being done.
Baseline, it is where a project can become a fail
project or successful project. Because in the beginning at the project. It’s
important to once the plan is approved by the change control board it’s to
baseline it. So you are in essence approving the project plan, which also
includes the project schedule. What happened is, during the project changes are
always going to occur. The time, scope, budget and quality. So as long as you
take this changes to a CCB to get approved. Then they giving you approval to
rebaseline the project that approval to make changes. So if you are schedule in
long dated and maybe it’s delayed for some time,if you get the appropriate approval
and rebaseline and it is important between a faied or successful project.
Triple constraint, there are four component up , it’s
balancing the time ,the cost, scope and quality of your project. So with a
triple constraint if these things occur specifically around changes. If you
have changes in time, it will impact at least on other the component. So with
always managing these things see keep the project on track. This thing you look
at and take to the CCB (change control board)
Project life cycle, a single-phase cycle said they
are initiating processes that occur and fit the planning processes. Once your
project begins to executing, executing processes monitoring and controlling
processes begin to occur throughout the project. And when the project is completed
you hit your closing processes. So that is a project life cycle have initiating,
planning, monitoring and controlling, executing, and closing project.
Gantt chart, it is a tool that a graphical display
the schedule information. So you can look at your WBS, it includes date in
duration for task on to be completed our deliverables to be produced.
CCB,certain stand for the change control board. This
is a group of representatives from stakeholders group. They are the people who designated
in your project plan, the people who with the authority to make approval or
denials for thing. So the review changes and evaluate them. They can approve
them or they will delay them or reject them on your project. It takes the
pressure off a project managers, you won’t take upon himself to make these
decisions, and it not for the project manager to make it's for the project
manager to had the processed in place to keep the processes in place for the
changes to be filled to CCB to really facilitate that process and again it’s
CCB responsibility for making those decisions .
Who is the stakeholder, include people and
organization it could be your customers, client, vendor partners. It could be
different organizations that their actively involved. They interact maybe
positively or negatively affected by execution of the project. They have the vested
interest
Change managemt, is about a project management plan
includes the processes on who does what , when and where related to changes in
the project and it is to control the scope purses managing changes typically
associated with managing change for project. So a project is initiated or
executed and it’s going to infiltrate different organizations or groups for the
corporation and that change is going to have some trigger emotional behaviors
that the company so they are many organizations that focus on managing the
change. They come in the help company to do the communications the planning for
people so that it doesn’t cause mass chaos when that project is implement.
Risk mitigation, VS risk management, RM is the
plan. RM is important because it’s different then risk identification, it’s
important to identify risk. In people on
the project sometimes are really good about identifying risk, specofocally at
the beginning in the project. But it is important to identify those all along
the way. But more importantly is not just identifying the risk, when coming up
with the mitigation strategy, so RM is about building a risk response planning
technique associated with treats to the project. So if the risk identified occurred, you
need to know what happens next to avoid project to be failed or take too much
time, more resources, specific equipment or something that not easy to access
to have, when you are not prepared It is a idea to reduce the probability that
risk occurring or reducing impact if it does occur.
IT project is a project has a specific beginning
and end date and its typically done to produce a business objective and produce
a unique product or service.
For each project there are business deliverables (they
are products and services) being generated as well as project management deliverables.
So in IT project, the product is being an IT produce.
It has many different areas depending upon the type
that IT project you are managing. There are firmware involved it happened be
dealing with the hardware project, there is maybe weber website component. It maybe
content database, infrastructure and underlying, network, a security aspect, a
storage site to store this information and a disaster recovery
area.
We find there are 5 key issues that are commonly
encountered with these type of project to be considered.
It is typically multiple vendors or partners who maybe supplying the infrastructure like
servers or hardware components, or providing the database, any of these
conponents could be a different company vendor or partner. And when for that
every different one, they generally becomes different expectations. Each vendor
comes with their own expectation and assumptions are constrained that must be
captured incorporated in overall project charter or project plan
Changing versions and releases, change is so rapidly
between those components like hardware improvements or enhancements coming
along even the firmware and software. So in the middle of IT project can last
sometime then typically somebody and sths are changing version and releases
that have to be incorporated, so constantly monitor.
Complex dependencies, those component, specifically
underlying infrastructure must be laid and sometimes it will delays and risk to
receiving infrastructure by a specific timeline that can impact some other
deliverable
disaster recovery, once DR plan has been made an
actual execution of that has to be done to test, it so there are Complex dependencies
have to be monitored and tracked along the way and then integrated testing each
of these components are built out in their needs can be difficult at times. Making
sure all people are available your resources who are providing these areas the researchers
are available. At the time you began doing your integrity testing
Support, if you have issues with any areas it may
be represented are provided be others making sure you have support to escalated
fix,or reduce risk in time.
